Effective Japanese Skincare and Makeup Part 2: Sekkisei

If you are interested in skin-brightening products, then this article is for you! According to Sekkisei, their cleansing oils and similar products are intended just for removing make-up and aren’t necessary to use in the morning. Even for oily skin, their face wash alone is plenty.

For Sekkisei, the recommended order to use their products in is like this:

Day
Facewash -> Toner -> All-in-one gel -> Lotion -> Milky lotion -> Daytime lotion -> Sunscreen -> CC/BB cream -> Loose powder

Night
Cleanser -> Facewash -> Mask -> Toner -> All-in-one gel -> Lotion -> Milky lotion -> Cream

The items in pink are for both morning and evening use.

So, let’s take a look at the Sekkisei products!

1. Cleanser (Night Care)

Treatment Cleansing Oil (160ml) effectively removes make-up down to the pores for a beautifully clear complexion.

Cleansing Cream (140g) contains oriental plant oils for more beautiful bare skin. With a creamy texture for clearer skin that’s soft to the touch.

2. Facewash (Day Care/Night Care)

Lotion-ready soap [Keshousui shitate] (100g) is a soap which lathers up into a thick foam that doesn’t exert friction on the skin. It clears dirt and oil from the pores without removing the skin’s natural moisture. With oriental plant extracts for beautifully clear skin.

White Washing Foam (130g) effectively clears away dirt and oil from pores, leaving skin brighter and clearer.

White Milky Wash (140ml) is a thick foamy facewash that protects the skin’s natural moisture while leading to a clearer complexion.

3. Mask Pack (Night Care)

Medicated Herbal Esthetic Mask (quasi-drug, 150g) gives you silky-smooth skin while acting to regulate melanin production, preventing dark spots.

4. Lotion (Day Care/ Night Care)

Medicated Sekkisei (quasi-drug, 200ml/360ml) is a lightening lotion designed to give translucent snowy skin that’s beautifully clear.

Medicated Sekkisei Enriched (quasi-drug, 200ml/360ml) is infused with oriental plant extracts which plump the skin with their moisturising power.

Lotion Excellent (quasi-drug, 200ml) has a rich thick texture and contains 5 types of moisturising plant extract.

5. All-in-one gel (Day Care/ Night Care)

Herbal Gel (80g, refill available) has multiple benefits including moisturising, lasting translucency and anti-inflammatory effects.

Recovery Essence Excellent (quasi-drug, 50ml) penetrates the skin and replenishes moisture, targeting wrinkles and brightening skin.

7. Milky lotion (Day Care/ Night Care)

Medicated Sekkisei Lotion (quasi-drug, 140ml) leads to plump and soft skin while regulating melanin production.

Sekkisei Emulsion Excellent (quasi-drug, 140ml) is a rich moisturising lotion which regulates melanin production and protects skin from the first signs of aging.

8. Cream (Night Care)

Sekkisei Cream (quasi-drug, 40g) is a water-based cream that accelerates the fading of dark spots.

9. Daytime Lotion (Day Care)

12. Foundation/Powder (Day Care)

Snow CC Powder (8g, comes in 3 shades, SPF14, PA+) spreads on the skin like a liquid, smoothly blending into the skin for even, natural coverage.

Loose powder (11g, SPF20, PA++) is a brightening face powder for long-lasting luminosity. The fine powder melts like snowflakes into the skin for a pure white look.
