Mucota Adllura Aire Explainer: Build Your Routine
Many people consider the Mucota Adllura Aire line one of the best treatments for dry, frizzy, or damaged hair. Unfortunately, it can be a little tough at first to work out exactly what products are right for you! Today I’m going to try and go back to basics in an attempt to simplify the process. Since we get so many questions from people trying to work out how to build a routine out of Mucota Aire, I’m hoping this approach will be useful!
First, I’m going to go through the series and describe each product as simply as I can. I won’t be using any of Mucota’s science-y marketing talk! Instead, I’ll just focus on who each product is for and a basic description of what each does. Once you’ve read through this section I think you’ll find it a breeze to build your own Mucota Adllura Aire haircare routine!
Who is the Mucota Aire line for?
First things first: is this line for you? The Mucota Aire line is a treatment series designed to repair damaged hair. It’ll help with reducing that visibly damaged, frizzy look that comes when you repeatedly perm, straighten, color, or heat style your hair.
Unlike some Mucota lines, like the Mucota Dyna series, the Mucota Aire series isn’t designed as a salon-style treatment. These products are to be used like regular shampoos, conditioners, masks, and leave in conditioners to repair damaged hair or frizzy hair.
The Mucota Aire series is extremely customizable! Mucota divides the hair types it treats into basic subcategories for each step, so at the end you have a system that’s tailored just for you.
Building a Routine
Step 1: Shampoo Treatment
Picking a Mucota Aire shampoo doesn’t require a lot of thought. Is your hair thin or thick?
Mucota Adllura Aire 01: Shampoo for thin hair. Silicone free. Smooths hair. Lightweight finish.
Mucota Adllura Aire 02: Shampoo for thick hair. Adds moisture. Reduces frizz. Moisturized finish.
Step 2: Treatment
Next step is choosing a conditioner, or “treatment”. When choosing your treatment, you also need to decide whether your hair is dry or normal. If your hair is oily but still damaged, the products for “normal” hair will still be fine for you!
Mucota Adllura Aire 03: Treatment for normal thin hair. Silicone free. Adds volume. Smooths hair.
Mucota Adllura Aire 04: Treatment for dry thin hair. Silicone free. Maintains volume. Reduces frizzy hair.
Mucota Adllura Aire 05: Treatment for normal thick hair. Adds volume. Smooths hair.
Mucota Adllura Aire 06: Treatment for dry thick hair. Adds volume. Adds moisture. Reduces frizzy hair.
Step 3: Weekly Treatment
Now, you need to decide if your hair needs a weekly treatment as well. You choose a deep treatment based on whether you frequently color, perm, or straighten your hair. You can choose either, both, or skip this step!
Mucota Adllura Aire 07: Weekly treatment for permed or straightened hair. Repairs hair that has been damaged by chemical treatments.
Mucota Adllura Aire 08: Weekly treatment for colored hair. Repairs hair that has been damaged by hair dye or bleach. Protects hair color.
Step 4: Leave In Treatment
Finally, the leave in conditioner stage. This is simple to choose as well: is your hair straight or wavy/curly?
Mucota Adllura Aire 09: Leave in conditioner for wavy hair. Adds moisture. Reduces volume.
Mucota Adllura Aire 10: Leave in conditioner for straight hair. Adds volume. Smooths hair.
Bonus Round: Mucota Adllura Aire Dune Ex
Mucota Adllura Aire Dune Ex is a shampoo and conditioner/treatment for highly damaged hair. If your hair is very damaged from treatments or heat styling, you can replace steps one and two with the Aire Dune Ex Shampoo and Aire Dune Ex Treatment instead for extra repair.
Example Routines
Excited about my system, I interrupted my busy coworker Roger to ask questions his hair as an example of how to build a routine.
Roger’s Mucota Aire routine
①Shampoo: First, he should choose Mucota Adllura Aire 02 for his thick hair. This makes sure the hair is smooth and moisturized.
②Treatment: His thick hair is apparently on the dry side, so the best choice for him is Mucota Adllura Aire 06. This is a repairing step that will keep the hair’s volume under control.
③Weekly treatment: He has short, healthy hair that he doesn’t treat with chemicals, so I think he can safely skip this step!
④Leave in conditioner: His hair is wavy, which tends to do well with some extra moisture. Mucota Adllura Aire 09 will moisturize the hair and keep it looking neat and under control.
Rebecca’s Mucota Aire routine
My longer hair is damaged and frizzy from bleach and heat styling, so this is how my routine looks.
①Shampoo: My hair is thin, so I’ll choose Mucota Adllura Aire 01. The lack of silicone should help avoid weighing the hair down.
②Treatment: My thin hair is also very dry (#blessed!), so I’ll choose Mucota Adllura Aire 04 to add some volume and tackle my one true nemesis, frizz.
③Weekly treatment: I color my hair, so I’ll choose Mucota Adllura Aire 08 to add back some of the luster the bleach strips out.
④Leave in treatment: Since my hair is wavy, I’ll choose Mucota Adllura Aire 09. Not only does it repair the hair, it protects against UV exposure and heat damage from styling products. I think that’s actually very useful as an all in one!
