FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil Review
Hi everyone! Today I’m going to be looking at FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil, a really popular makeup cleanser.
Usually I use a water-based make-up remover with a cotton pad. It’s convenient but it can be difficult to remove my eye make-up completely. So I’m interested in seeing how the FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil will work. I hope it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily. Let’s find out!
Packaging
FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil comes in a sleek blue pump bottle. I have seen it in smaller containers and samplers but this bottle is the most common. It contains 120ml.

How to use
The instructions say you can use wet or dry hands to apply the oil to your face. After rubbing it gently over your face you can remove it by rinsing with water. It’s fine to use it in the bath or shower on slightly wet skin. After that you can wash your face and continue your skincare routine as normal.
Trying it out
Here’s my face before applying the oil in the evening, with make-up including mascara. (By the way, the thing I’m wearing is a Japanese outfit called a jinbei and it’s the most comfortable summer clothing ever. I own two of them just for lounging around the house!)
I used about this much oil every time. As you can see, it’s colourless. There’s no noticeable smell.
Then I applied the oil, spreading it carefully around my face. This can be a bit tricky to do without getting any oil in your hair or eyes. But it doesn’t sting at your eyes at all.
It takes a bit of effort to rinse off the oil completely, but as you can see below, it took off all my make-up without a hint of mascara left! It worked better than I’d expected.
The thing I like most about this oil is that it left my skin with a very soft texture. Some make-up cleansers can be harsh and stripping. However, you do have to be careful to rinse away all the oil fully.
FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil: In summary
Pros:
- Removes all makeup including mascara
- Moisturises and softens the skin
- No strong scent or harsh ingredients
Cons:
- Messy to apply, may get in your eyes or hair
- Slightly difficult to wash off completely
For me it’s quite a disadvantage that the oil is messy to apply, but if you use it while showering it’s a lot more convenient. The best thing is how soft and moisturised your skin feels afterwards. (*^^*)
A final word
I’m moving on from Wonect soon, so this is my final review for the site (T_T) I hope you’ve found my articles useful! I’ve learnt a lot, and I’m staying in Japan so I hope I’ll continue to discover great products.
My final beauty advice is… enjoy trying out different styles, and try not to stress out about your appearance! It’s easy to obsess over one skin or hair problem that’s difficult to fix. But getting into beauty should be fun, bring you confidence, and inspire you to be healthier, not make you feel bad about yourself.
(Also, wear sun cream, seriously XD You’ll thank your past self in 20 years!)
