Shiseido Professional Adenovital Scalp Treatment Review
I’m going to turn 50 next year… Some people notice their hair getting thinner or greyer as early as their late 30s, but I’ve been lucky so far and my hair hasn’t been aging very much. However, recently I’ve started to notice that my hair is getting a bit thinner and has less volume than before. So I wanted to see if today’s product – Adenovital Scalp Treatment – is effective in tackling these issues.
Product information of Adenovital Scalp Treatment
It’s a scalp treatment meant to target hair thinning or hair loss. The bottle is 130g.
It promises to moisturise a dry scalp and restore bounce and vitality to the hair, acting from the roots to give your hair more volume.
But what happened when I used it at home?
Let’s try it out!
The treatment looks like this. It has a creamy texture.
I used it according to the instructions on the bottle.
1. After shampooing, rinse your hair thoroughly. Put the nozzle close to your scalp and squirt out the product as though drawing a line.
In the picture I only show one line, but I did the same thing at 3 or 4 points on my head.
2. Using your fingers, massage the treatment over your whole scalp and then spread it through your hair.
3. Rinse off thoroughly, concentrating on the scalp.
There was no foam even when I was massaging in the treatment. It feels kind of refreshing on your scalp.
This is my hair after blow-drying. I do think it looks softer with more volume and bounce.
My ratings
Well, first of all I feel like I have to apologise to the folks at Shiseido. Until now I haven’t had a great impression of Shiseido products. There’s no particular reason for this, I just haven’t really used their products much. But having used this AdenoVital Scalp Treatment, I have to say they’ve done a good job.
Here are my ratings for this treatment, out of five stars.
Convenience ☆☆☆☆☆
It’s really easy to use. The nozzle is thin making it easy to apply.
Smell ☆☆☆☆
The smell isn’t overpowering, but I think there will be people who like it and those that don’t… It reminds me of a mud face pack that I used before.
Effects on the scalp ☆☆☆☆
There is a refreshing feeling, but it’s not that strong. I think it might be better if it were a bit stronger actually. The next day I didn’t notice any smell or anything from my scalp (^^)!
Effects on the hair ☆☆☆☆☆
I was a bit surprised but it has the same effects on my hair as a normal treatment. The first time I used the AdenoVital treatment, I got the instructions wrong and only used it on my scalp, not spreading it through my hair. But I still felt my hair get silkier.
Volume ☆☆☆☆
As you can see from the picture above, you can get decent volume.
So overall I would recommend this treatment for more volume and for soothing a dry scalp. Why not give it a try?
